Water Balloon Catapult

Materials:

  • popsicle sticks

  • rubber bands

  • cup

  • water balloon

  • 1 foot of tape 

  • a plate

Objective​

Challenge yourself or your students to come up with the best design for a catapault. Make the most efficient, durable, and see how far it launches! You have 45 minutes to brainstorm and build one.

Bottle Rockets

Materials

  • plastic bottles

  • posicle sticks (stabalizers)

  • baking soda & vinegar or sodas & mentos

*do this in an outside, clear space*

 

Objective

This activity will teach students about forces and chemical reactions while having fun designing rockets using a plastic bottle and then experiment with vinegar and  baking soda ratio to fuel the launch.

Space Needle Tower

Materials

  • toothpicks

  • popsicle sticks

  • paper clips

  • binder clips

  • 1 piece of paper

  • 1 foot of tape

Objective

Challenge students' engineering skills by testing their understanding of structure stability, height, and strength. Try and build the tallest possible tower that can support a tennis ball at the top.
